Takeoff Standards

Takeoff Standards

⎯⎯

How are you quantifying the work required to clear the site?  Are you counting signs to be removed and concrete curb or sidewalk to be demolished?  How about trees, do you count individuals as well as areas of large clusters? What constitutes individual trees vs clusters?

When drainage or sanitary or water is taken off, is all the appropriate information included?  Is the format different each time?  Is existing pipe to be remove in the same trench identified as coincidental?

How wide of a trench do you actually estimate to excavate?  As this impacts bedding, is everyone on the same page with how to calculate this information?

Standardization of these and many other aspects of the work you perform cand have established company standards for takeoffs and quantification.

We currently have the following formats for takeoffs:

  • Clearing site
  • Earthwork
    • Stripping
    • Excavation
    • Import
    • Grading
  • Storm Water systems
  • Sanitary Sewer systems
    • Mains and services
    • Forcemain
  • Water supply
    • Mains and services

    • Foundations
